Dave King b.1946 Modernist wooden sculpture
A beautifully balanced and complex wooden sculpture by an internationally recognised Sculptor. The piece is made from a variety of hard and painted soft woods. It has two drill holes ready for an immediate hang onto the wall. Signed, titled and dated on the underside.
This is a lovely object.
Biog:
Dave King b.1946. Sculptor, painter and teacher. Born in Birmingham, he studied at Leeds College of Art (1965-8), and The Slade (1968-70). He received a Boise travelling scholarship (1972) and was Artist-in-Residence at The University of Sussex (1974) Successful lecturing career at Bath Academy, Norwich School of Art and Canterbury College of Art. His first solo show was held at The Serpentine Gallery (1970). Exhibited regularly at Angela Flowers Gallery since 1978. Work held in the collections of; The British Council, the Arts Council of Great Britain, the Contemporary Arts Society and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
