Joan Gillespie (b.1954-)
Scottish Painter of highly coloured still lifes and landscapes, who studied at Duncan of Jordonstone College, Dundee. She became a designer with the Royal Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh and then from 1979, bagan to paint full time. Was a finalist in Morrison Portrait Competion, RSA, 1991, and Laing Landscape competion, Mall Galleries 1992, also showing at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, RWS and SSWA, as well as many private galleries. Shared a show with Geri Morgan at Duncan Campbell Contemporary Art, 1998 with solo shows thereafter from 2000. National and corporate commections hold her work.
