An abstract, surreal landscape painted in tempera onto board. Signed lower right, titled verso. Housed in a painted wooden frame. Provenance: originally consigned to a Cambridge sale by the artist's niece.
Uriel Eekhoff (1923-2014): Born in 1923 of Dutch extraction, Eekhoff studied at Harrow School of Art from 1939-41. During WWII he served in the 'Y' Service, the intelligence branch of the Royal Air Force. He was awarded a scholarship to the Royal College of Art where he studied from 1946-1949. He subsequently worked in Paris & on the Continent before returning, exhibiting at many mixed shows including the London Group, Leicester Gallery, AIA etc & one man shows at the Portal Gallery, Highton, Redmark & Centaur Galleries.
