Michael Pennie (1936-2019) Abstract sculpture
A sleek, flowing and architecturally inspired sculpture by the respected Artist and teacher Michael Pennie. The base shows Pennies signature.
Michael Pennie (1936-2019) British Sculptor, printmaker and teacher, born in Wallasey, Cheshire. Pennie studied at Sunderland College of Art, 1953-7, then Royal College of Art, 1957-61, in latter year attending British School in Rome. He was a teacher at Bath Academy of Art and Corsham under Clifford Ellis in 1964. In early 1970's was appointed a Gregynog Fellow at University College Wales. Many group shows, solo exhibitions including Angela Flowers Gallery, Demarco Gallery Edinburgh. The Tate and The Arts Council hold his work.
Pennie's most recent post was at Bath Spa as lecturer, artist in residence and by all accounts, good egg.
