Rene Quere (1932-2021) Mid 20th century abstract oil painting.

A lovely abstract by this important, French artist. Rene Quere was a mid 20th century painter and ceramicist working out of Paris. This lovely, signed oil painting shows hues of pink and red across an abstracted landscape. This piece would grace any post-war art collection and/or serve as wonderful inspiration for interior design.

 

 Born in Ploaré, near Douarnenez, René Quéré studied fine arts in Quimper in the 1950s. His teachers were Jos Le Corre and Pierre Toulhoat. It was at their invitation that he worked at the Keraluc earthenware factory in Quimper. He exhibited widely from 1956 onwards. He had one man shows in Brittany, Paris, Belgium and Germany. 

 

This medium sized, oil on canvas is dated 1970. The piece measures 40cm x 60cm and housed in its original, painted wood frame. Condition is excellent.
