Seated figure 1961 Jonathan Turner (1937–) Oil on canvas

  • Seated figure. A powerful, cubist abstract painted in 1961 by an important but as yet, undervalued artist. An investment piece and a superb example of British, postwar expression. It has all the hallmarks of the Slade school influences which is indeed, where Jonathan Turner studied.

Turner studied at the Slade school of Art under William Coldstream going on to become head of Art at Harrow School 1967-82. He exhibited in Paris and London during the 1960s & 1970s.
